Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her show business career early. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable role like Adolf's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. It received nominations for an Oscar and was praised by critics. Additional Oscar nominated films featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Over the years Alexandra has worked in several notable international and national projects. This includes her work on the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as the French historic Miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
